- You have four USRERLIST Utilities, they are;
- Update File
- Allows you to ADD, CHANGE/DELETE or Repeat any item from
- the from the currently selected file.
- Review File
- Gives you the opportunity to review one or all the
- current items on the selected file.
- New File
- Here you can CREATE a new file or CHANGE the current
- selection to another file. All files must be in the
- TIMECHK\TCDATA sub-directory.
- Quit
- Selecting Q or pressing the F10 Key will allow you to
- quit the program.

- Use the UP and DOWN Arrow Keys and hit <Enter> to select,
- or hit the first letter of the Menu Item.
- Add item to current special date file
- Change/delete item on special date file
- Repeat/copy item on special date file
- Add
- Add an item allows you to append or add to the current
- file. You will be asked to enter the DATE, INFORMATION
- about that date; select a WINDOW COLOR, BORDER COLOR and
- BORDER STYLE. If the selected file has not been retrieved,
- the system will get the appropriate file.
- Please Note:
- You may not have more than 730 Special Dates in any one
- DATa file.
- Change/Delete
- You will have all the flexibility needed to change any item
- selected. You may change the DATE, LINE INFORMATION, WINDOW
- COLOR, BORDER COLOR AND BORDER STYLE.
- Should you wish to DELETE any item on the selected list,
- you may do so by selecting the line item form the
- abbreviated REVIEW Window with the <Enter> Key.
- Repeat/Copy
- You can Repeat (copy) any item listed on the current file by
- selecting this option. You can change any of the five elements
- before saving. See the documenation for more details.

- Enter any valid date in the Month/Day range, e.g., 0514.
- Hit the <Enter> to accept the entered date.
- You will be asked to confirm your entry. Hit either the <Y>
- Key or hit <Enter> to accept.
- If the date is in use by another list item, an error
- message will open asking if you wish to overwrite.
- Dates are checked for valid months and days.

- The <Esc> Key has been hit. Do you wish to discontinue the
- current operation and abandon the List Data you have
- entered?
- If NOT, hit <Enter> or the <N> Key.

- USERLIST has found that the date entered has been assigned
- to the item shown in the error window.
- If you wish to overwrite and accept the current list item,
- hit the <Y> Key. To clear your entry and enter another
- item, hit the <N> Key or hit <Enter>.

- You may enter up to 56 characters describing the
- significance of the Month and Day you entered. When you're
- done entering your information, strike the <Enter> Key.
- You will be asked to confirm your entry. Strike <Enter> to
- accept, <N> Key to reject it and re-enter a new line of

- Entering you information is like using a word processor.
- Certain key strokes are used to add, delete, change and over-
- write your text line. The following keys and key combinations
- are used by USERLIST;
- <Backspace> Key - USERLIST has a destructive backspace key.
- Use it to delete text ahead of and to the
- left of the cursor.
- <Ctrl>+<End> Key - Deletes all text from the cursor to the end
- of the line.
- <Delete> Key - Deletes text one character at a time at the
- cursor from the right of the cursor.
- <End> Key - Moves the cursor to the end of the text.
- <Enter> Key - Accepts entered text.
- <Home> Key - Moves the cursor to the start of the text
- line.
- <Insert> Key - Changes the size of the cursor to a full
- block and allows text to be inserted from
- the cursor to the right.

- <Right Arrow> Key- Move the cursor to the right one space.
- <Shift> and
- <Shift Lock> Key - Used to change from lower case to upper case.

- Window Color
- Now that you have entered your Month and Day, and
- information, you need to select the window color TIMECHK
- will use to display your information. Each TIMECHK display
- consists of a Window Color, Border Color and Border Style.
- To select a Window Color, enter any number from 000 to 127
- for solid colors (foreground and background combinations),
- and color numbers from 128 to 255 for blinking foreground
- colors. Background colors will not blink.
- F7 will provide you with a Color Chart where you can select
- any color form 000 to 127. Use the Arrow Keys to move
- around in the chart, <Enter> to accept the selected color.
- Please Note - The F7 Selectable Color Chart is only avail-
- able with a Color Adaptor. Black & White or Monochrome
- users have access to the F3 Lookup Chart, see below.
- F3 is a lookup chart that displays all foreground and back-
- ground colors or gray scales.
- Blinking Colors:
- You may find a complete list of color combinations,
- foreground and background by selecting the F3 Lookup Chart.

- Border Color
- Now that you have entered your Month and Day, and
- information, you need to select the Border Color TIMECHK
- will use to display your information. Each TIMECHK display
- consists of a Window Color, Border Color and Border Style.
- To select a Border Color, enter any number from 000 to 127
- for solid colors (foreground and background combinations),
- and color numbers from 128 to 255 for blinking foreground
- colors. Background colors DO NOT blink.
- F7 will provide you with a Color Chart from which you can
- select any color form 000 to 127. Use the Arrow Keys to
- move around in the chart, <Enter> to accept the selected
- color.
- F3 is a color Lookup Chart that shows both foreground and
- background colors, solid and blinking, gray scales with
- Black & White or Monochrome Adaptors.
- Blinking Colors:
- You may find a complete list of color combinations,
- foreground and background by selecting either the F3 Lookup
- Color Chart or the F7 Selectable Color Chart.
- Some very unusual effects can be obtained with the use of
- a blinking foreground color and a hatch border style.

- Border Style
- Select a Border Style from one of the combinations show in
- the Menu. Strike the first or highlighted letter or move
- the Color Menu Bar with the Up and Down Arrow Keys and
- <Enter> to accept.
- Using the Up and Down Arrow Keys will give you an idea of
- what the Window Border will look like in the Border Color
- selected.

- USERLIST is displaying your new List Window which TIMECHK
- will display, less the cut ins.
- To accept your new entry, by striking the <Y> Key or by

- Use the Up and Down Arrow Keys to move within the Review
- Window. Strike the <Enter> Key to Review TIMECHK Window.
- What is shown within the Review Window is a representation
- of the actual .DAT or TIMECHK Data File that has been
- selected for use.
- The highlighted bar gives a description of the actual
- entries in the file. Because of the variable length of
- each item the descriptions will not line up with the
- actual data.
- You may review the entire list (file) by repeatedly
- striking the <Enter> Key. When the end of the List (file)
- is reached, a single message will appear informing you that
- you have reached the end of the file. Hit the <Enter> Key
- or <Esc> Key to return to the top of the List.

- Enter <Y> to quit USERLIST.
- If your date information has not been saved, it will be
- saved before USERLIST ends.
- Hit <N> to clear the QUIT? Window and continue with
- USERLIST.

- Invalid Entry
- The named item has been to be invalid. Either you have
- entered a Month and Day that are not valid calendar dates
- or an invalid color number.
- Hit any key to clear this message and correct the problem.

- You have entered a color number that is less than three-
- digits in length.
- All color numbers must be a three-digit number ranging from
- 000 to 255
- Hit any key to clear this window and return.

- Create New List/Select Another List
- USERLIST allows you to either Create A New List or Select
- Another List.
- Use the UP and Down Arrow Keys and hit <Enter> to select
- your entry, or hit the highlighted key.
- Create New Data File
- You can create a new TIMECHK Date list by using this
- utility. Enter the new data file name. USERLIST will
- create a new file and allow you to place new entries
- into the list. You may only enter 100 new items at any
- one time. However, you may have a total of 740 items in
- any one .DAT (data) file.
- Should you choose a name that is already in use, the New
- List Utility will warn you of the condition and ask if you
- wish to OVERWRITE the original [name].DAT file. If you
- choose to OVERWRITE the old file, you will again be asked
- to confirm you request. USERLIST Does Not make backup
- copies of .DAT (List Data Files) about to be OVERWRITTEN.
- Your new TIMECHK Date List will be placed in the
- \TIMECHK\TCDATA sub directory.

- New USERLIST Data File Name Already Exists!
- The new name chosen is already used by another TIMECHK Data
- File found in the [d]:\TIMECHK\TCDATA sub directory.
- You have the choice to effectively delete the original file
- and replacing it with your new list, OR you can abandon
- your new name and select another name.
- Use the <Enter> or (N) (No) Key to abandon your new file
- name, OR enter <Y> (Yes) to DELETE the original file and
- replace it with your new file.
- The actual delete and replace operation does not take place
- until you select the option of telling USERLIST to
- discontinue adding new entries. It is then that the
- original file is OVERWRITTEN.
- You will be asked twice to confirm your intent to overwrite
- the original file.
- PLEASE NOTE - YOU CANNOT OVERWRITE THE FILE TIMECHK.DAT.
- This is the original TIMECHK file. You can only add or
- delete items form the original.

- shown in the list, you are blocked form accessing the
- Parent directory. Only the [d]:\TIMECHK\TCDATA sub
- directory is accessible.

- Special USERLIST files cannot be found in the appropriate
- directory. Check to see if your programs were copied into
- the correct directories, or if the files have not been
- deleted. Files can be copied from the original diskette by
- following the Installation instructions. Although the main
- TIMECHK files will be overwritten with the original files,
- USERLIST files created since your installation will not be
- affected.

- information.

- The destination disk is full. Please check to make certain
- you have sufficient run on the destination disk (floppy or
- hard drive) for your USERLIST files.

- your system. This could mean you have a serious problem.

- USERLIST has found that either the destination disk or the

- If you destination or source disk is your hard disk, this
- could mean you have a problem with your hard drive. Check
- your systems manual or consult your PC professional.

- list to either CHANGE or DELETE.

- Return takes you back to the ADD...../CHANGE/DELETE....

- Use the <Esc> key to clear and return form Color Chart 256.

- The date entered for a Repeat list item cannot be used due

- In order for all items in the requested repeat item to

- "SPECIAL", "B_DAYS_R"
- Please remember, you may not use TIMECHK for a "new"
- data file or "list name". This name is reserved for
- PC TIMECHK.

- TIMECHK's Path Cannot Be Found
- USERLIST cannot locate the [d]:\TIMECHK\ or [d]:\TIMECHK\
- TCDATA sub-directories. Check to make certain that these
- sub-directories are located on the source drive, or the
- source drive selected is the correct drive for TIMECHK.
